Year after year, Consumer Recovery Associates (CRA) has been an ardent supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), participating in the organizations’ annual fund raiser walks. This year is no different.
CRA employees and family members took part in the 2010 Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraiser, October 23, walking the one mile course at Oceanfront Park in Virginia Beach.
“The JDRF is a charity that does amazing work to help young people with Type 1 diabetes, and it’s an organization that needs our support,” said CRA’s President Kalin Scott. “Our interest in the JDRF first began when one of our employees’ children was diagnosed with the disease. At that time, we wanted to do anything we could to help the local JDRF chapter.”
Even though that employee is no longer with the company, CRA has never wavered in its support of the organization, raising thousands of dollars for the JDRF. “Our people really enjoy the fun and camaraderie of the walk and knowing that they are raising money for the JDRF,” said Scott. “This fundraiser means a great deal to all of us.”
CRA holds a firm belief in giving back to the community. This commitment drives the company’s contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and other non-profits such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Salvation Army, LifeNet Health Foundation, the Virginia Beach Little League, The Barry Robinson Foundation and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
